Fran's Coy Tune

from Chris Kelsey Quintet by Chris Kelsey

/

about

The saxophonist leads his quintet in a set of his own gnarly original compositions ... a white-hot exercise in harmolodics. Kelsey calls it, "Maybe the best thing I've ever done, the clearest statement of what I'm about, musically, at this point in my life." With a band comprising pianist Lewis Porter, guitarist Jack DeSalvo, bassist Francois Grillot, and drummer Enrique Haneine. In addition to playing straight alto and tenor saxes, Kelsey records on baritone sax for the first time.
